2011 Florida SuperShow Opens Next Week

The 2011 Florida RV Show Starts January 12thSee the 2011 RV models at the Florida SuperShow in Tampa Florida. The show is open to the public for 5 days starting on Wednesday, January 12th at 9am. This is the 26th anniversary of the SuperShow and it is held again at the Florida State Fairgrounds off of Interstate 4 and U.S. Hwy 301, just east of Tampa.

Wear comfortable shoes because there’s more than 1,100 RV’s to see covering 16 acres. The motor home manufacturers feature their latest offerings for a side-by-side comparison that is invaluable if you are in the market for a 2011 RV. This is especially useful if you plan to buy a used model in the upcoming years. Now is the time to compare features, makes and models so that when the time comes to buy, you’ll have done your homework and can get the best model for you at the price you’re waiting for.

Perhaps you own a truck already and can’t decide whether a travel trailer, pop-up, or truck camper is right for you? Talk to several sales reps about your vehicle’s towing capacity and what size rig you should consider. Getting several opinions in one place should give you more insight and assist in making the best buying decision. When you see a model that you like, be sure to ask who the model was designed for. You may be surprised by the answers and it may help you to define your traveling style.

Check out the Tampa RV Show (NOTE: updated link on 1/11/12 to point to our new article vs. outdated link to FRVTA.) website for a show map of all the vendors and look for the coupon to save a buck on admission. They also have information on camping on site that includes nightly entertainment and daily entrance fees.

As always, bring a camera, or video camera, to capture what you like and even what you don’t like. Make sure when taking pictures to include some identifier of the make or model and don’t rely on your memory to make sense of it later. This is going to be a huge show that you won’t want to miss if you are serious about RVing.

In the meantime, here are a few clips from last year’s show:
