Bring Your Own RV to Mount Laurel Music Events

Here’s a great concept we’d like to see more of – outdoor music events that allow overnight RV parking. The Mount Laurel Pocono Mountains Performing Arts Center received permission for 30 overnight RV parking spaces, starting with the July 7th event, for this season’s music events. RVs can pull in after 11:00am the day of shows and then must vacant by 11:00am the following morning. The cost is $40 per night and rigs must be self-contained septic wise.

Other activities include the Party on the Lawn that starts 3-hours before events with local talent, a discount BBQ, beer and wine bars, and special tastings and giveaways from sponsors. See the Mt. Laurel PAC website for more information on events, tickets, directions and much more.

In the future they may get permission from the Lehman Township to allow more RV spaces, so let’s hope all goes well at these events to encourage that. Ideally other venues will pay attention to this idea and perhaps we’ll see the concept spread.

The WayneIndependent.com quotes Chris Perrotti, Chief Operating Officer & General Manager of Mount Productions, L.P., as saying, “This is an audience very few concert facilities cater to. With over 37,000 RV owners living within a 50 miles radius of the Mt. Laurel Performing Arts Center, we hope to provide RV owners with a unique overnight entertainment experience.”

“THE MOUNT” calls itself the ‘premier outdoor amphitheater in eastern Pennsylvania.’ It seats 2,500 under cover and 7,500 on the lawn. Located in the backyard of the Pocono Mountains, it is only an hour and fifteen minute drive from New York City.

What do you think?

What a fantastic way to immerse yourself into an event and then just walk over to sleep in your own home away-from-home RV for the night. No traffic or late night driving to worry about.

Aside from RV shows, does anyone know of other events and venues that allow for RV overnight parking?
